About this service

What this covers

Alif Construction provides planning, design and interior support for new build, extension and renovation projects. The work covers architectural planning and layout, structural design and analysis, working and shop drawings, and the drawing sets required for submission to RAJUK and other approving authorities. Designs submitted for statutory approval are prepared and signed by professionals registered in the relevant category, in line with the Bangladesh National Building Code 2020 and the requirements of the Electronic Construction Permitting System.

Design work is carried out alongside our construction teams rather than separately from them. Drawings are prepared with an understanding of how the detail will be built, which reduces revision during execution and keeps the approved design and the constructed work aligned. Interior support continues the same approach, covering space planning, ceilings, partitions, joinery, flooring and finishes, coordinated with electrical and plumbing routing so that services and finishes are resolved before work begins on site.

Questions

Popular questions

Who signs the structural design submitted to RAJUK?
Every design submitted through the Electronic Construction Permitting System must carry the signature and registration number of an individually registered professional in the relevant discipline. Structural and geotechnical designs are signed by an engineer holding Registered Engineer status from the Bangladesh Professional Engineers Registration Board, and architectural drawings by a registered architect. The system verifies the membership number against the institution records at the point of submission.
Can you handle the RAJUK approval process itself?
We prepare the drawing sets and supporting documents to the checklist published by the Electronic Construction Permitting System, and we manage the submission and follow-up. Approval timelines are set by RAJUK and depend on the completeness of the application, the building category and the schedule of the relevant committee. We do not guarantee approval outcomes or dates.
Do we need a soil test before you can design the foundation?
Yes. A geotechnical investigation report is required as part of the approval submission, and the foundation design depends on its findings. We arrange the investigation with a specialist testing contractor and incorporate the report into the design. The report is signed by an engineer registered for geotechnical work.
Can you take on interior work without doing the structural design?
Yes. Interior and fit-out work is offered separately, whether the building is new, already occupied or under renovation. Where interior work affects structural elements, service routing or means of escape, that portion is reviewed against the approved drawings and the relevant code provisions before work proceeds.
